John Pope is a Paris-based writer and translator. After studying psychology at U.C. Berkeley, he became a computer programmer, working at Sun Microsystems and other Silicon Valley companies. He co-founded Accrue Software in 1996, and later helped launch Popular Power, a distributed computing platform. In 2001, he moved to Paris to dedicate himself to writing and translating. His hobbies include woodworking, jazz guitar, salsa dancing, and chess.
